PROFESSIONALS
Care Providers.
Ageing is a complex process, but Canary Care products make caring for patients as straightforward as possible. By giving accurate and actionable insights, we aim to remove as much guesswork from care as possible to help provide tailored care that ensures the well-being and quality of life for those who need it.
DELIVER SERVICE WITH
Greater efficiency.
Whether in domiciliary care, assisted living or residential settings, delivering a great service maximises the bond between service users and care providers, and boosts care workers’ morale. But doing this with finite resources and increasing care demands can be challenging. That’s why Canary Care’s ability to make service delivery more efficient – as well as more accurate and better informed – makes it the smart choice for UK care providers.
Canary Care has been utilized by many to offer the same quality care service at a lower cost. This is accomplished by eliminating unnecessary "quick check" care visits, warden rounds, and staff interactions through remote monitoring.
SUPPORT FAMILIES WITH
Data driven tools.
At the heart of what we do is the desire to give families peace of mind that their loved ones are being accurately cared for and given the best quality of life. Care requirements can be highly diverse and individualised – combining in-person care with Canary Care insights help those who can’t be there feel as close to their family as possible.
Care providers are ideally placed to deploy Canary Care as a way of giving families peace of mind wherever they are, at any time of day or night. As well as promoting trust and transparency between care providers and service user families, it provides service differentiation and is a potential additional revenue stream.
QUALITY CONTROL
Staff and service levels.
The Canary Care system allows care providers to monitor service quality levels by keeping track of care visits and staff interactions with service users.
This complements existing quality control measures by adding independent quantitative data to the qualitative input self-certified by staff – and can contribute to evidencing good practice in CQC assessments.
Another related use case for Canary Care is to validate the need for overnight waking/sleeping nights care cover as the service user’s needs evolve. By basing decisions on hard evidence, service users receive the most appropriate support and staffing levels are optimised.
CASE STUDY
From your patients to your business, see where care is needed.
Hft is a charity that supports more than 2,900 people with learning disabilities both in residential homes and living independently with Hft’s support.
Canary Care is used by Hft to assist residential care delivery to high-dependency service users who may need to be frequently checked on by a staff member (e.g. every 15 minutes for a particular service user with epilepsy).
Specifically, the Canary Care Visitor Card mechanism is employed to validate process adherence and provide staff monitoring. A Canary Care hub (used in all Canary Care systems and featuring an integrated smart card reader) is placed in the service user’s room and staff members tap the Canary Care visitor card on the hub to each time they check on the service user.
All of these interactions are recorded by the Canary Care system. Any deviations from the expected schedule are flagged and email notifications sent to supervisors. This provides Hft with a full audit trail to evidence process adherence and a clear record of any non-compliance, which can be further investigated – if required.
GRANT INDEPENDENCE WITH
Contactless care.
Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, Canary Care has been increasingly deployed by care providers to protect their service provision from unprecedented staff absences, whilst maintaining social distancing.
Equally, now, more than ever, it is important for families to be able to see that their loved ones are coping and managing isolation and shielding periods safely. Canary Care is simple to install by family members themselves, without the need for a professional installer.
Canary Care allows formal and informal carers to reduce unnecessary care visits, minimising contact with vulnerable people, thus protecting their safety and that of their carers.
INNOVATION
Proof of Concept.
The process of testing and piloting new care provider service models is enhanced by the use of Canary Care to benchmark and track real-time data of service users and their carers inside any home-based setting.
This is true of literally any service innovation, not just use cases that rely upon Canary Care to support service delivery – allowing care providers to harness data to drive the development of new ideas through to live service offerings.
PROMOTE
Transparency to stakeholders.
With Canary Care, care providers can enhance their time and attendance data and subjective analysis to gain valuable insights into the quality, progress, and outcomes of their services. This transparency extends both upstream to commissioning bodies and downstream to families and other care networks, ensuring the optimum care pathways for individual service users and fostering inclusion of all relevant stakeholders.
Canary Care even helps improve the process of testing and piloting new care provider service models by delivering real-time data of service users and their carers in any home-based setting. This is applicable to all service innovations, even those that do not rely on Canary Care. Providers can use the data to develop new ideas and turn them into live services.
